Save the Children

Save the Children is a private organization (NGO) for international support for children intended to protect children's rights and enable children to lead a better life. At present, independent organizations in 27 countries over the world are working together to deliver programs in over 120 countries around the world by taking advantage of the world's largest network.
May 2008 — Participated in the Ecocap Movement
The Ecocap Movement is intended to deliver vaccines to children over the world by collecting and recycling plastic bottle caps and donating the profits from the sale of those caps.
We collect plastic bottle caps by setting up boxes dedicated to collecting the caps in several places in our office. Caps collected will be used to provide vaccines to children in countries in Southeast Asia and other regions through a vaccine donation organization.
May 27, 2008 Donation to the Sichuan Earthquake Relief Fund
We made a donation to the Sichuan Earthquake Relief Fund through Japanese Red Cross Society. This relief fund is intended to support relief activities for victims of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, which occurred in Sichuan Province, China on May 12, 2008.
May 27, 2008 Donation to the Cyclone Nargis Victims Relief Fund
We made a donation to the Cyclone Nargis Victims Relief Fund through Japanese Red Cross Society. This relief fund is intended to support relief activities for victims of the Cyclone Nargis, which hit Myanmar on May 2, 2008.
CSR activities from 2006 to 2011
We are going to carry out the assistance project for Abebech Gobena Orphanage located in the capital city of Ethiopia from 2006 to 2011. Management resources which have so far been used for CSR activities such as regular donations will be concentrated on this project.
April 11, 2006 Donation to Abebech Gobena Orphanage
We paid a visit to Abebech Gobena Orphanage located in Ethiopia's capital and made a donation to it. This orphanage is an NGO which provides shelter and education free of charge to children who lost their parents due to economical reasons or AIDS/HIV infection. At present, about 160 orphans live in this institution.
Besides the orphanage, there are also a clinic, kindergarten, an elementary and secondary school, and a vocational training school on its premise, and a variety of programs for helping children and people in surrounding areas are run there.
We have a plan to provide assistance to this organization for five years as a part of our CSR activities and are going to release the detailed schedule of the plan on its CSR WEB later.
January 5, 2006 Donation to People for the Advancement of Cambodian Education
We made a donation to People for the Advancement of Cambodian Education , an organization founded in 1999 to support education of Cambodian children who will lead the future of Cambodia.
Cambodia today is faced with difficult problems in education due to school and teacher shortage. People for the Advancement of Cambodian Education is making recommendation regarding course content and providing support for school equipment and supplies in order to give the opportunity of education to more children and enable them to lead a fruitful school life. It also conducts exchange projects between Cambodia and Japan to help children in both countries understand each other better and broaden their world view.
