October 3, 2011 Donation to Doctors of the World (Médecins du Monde)
We made a donation to Doctors of the World (Médecins du Monde) .
Doctors of the World is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in Paris which is engaged in humanitarian medical assistance by sending primarily personnel specialized in medicine and health all over the world. It reaches out and helps people in the most vulnerable situation over the world, overcoming every barrier of nationality, ethnicity, religion, beliefs, race, etc., and carries out activities with a focus on the “autonomy” of local communities.
It offers assistance to victims of natural disasters, armed conflicts, political repression, and diseases (epidemics, infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS), refugees, minorities, street children, and any other people excluded from medical care. Its medical treatment team is conducting a variety of assistance activities tailored to the health and medical situation and the need of residents in countries and areas of the world where assistance is needed.
July 1, 2011 Donation to World Vision Japan
We made a donation to World Vision Japan , a specified nonprofit corporation.
Aiming to support the autonomous development of communities for the well-being of children, World Vision Japan provides long-term regional development assistance in the wide range of areas including education, health, agricultural support, water resources development, income improvement, leader development, and HIV/AIDS countermeasures. In response to the needs for emergency assistance upon natural disasters and humanitarian support to the people affected by conflicts, it also distributes relief supplies including food, clothing, blankets, and tents and provides mental care to the people affected.
March 14, 2011 Emergency assistance after the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake
We would like to express the deepest sympathy for the victims of the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake and their families.
We will take the following three steps as emergency assistance.
- Donate 3 million yen through Fuji Network Bokin. (The donation includes a contribution by the benefit association organized by all employees of Mitsue-Links.)
- If our client is to make an announcement on their website for emergency assistance as a part of their CSR activities, quickly carry out the necessary work for the announcement free of charge.
- Reduce 25% of power consumption primarily in lighting as a power saving measure.
January 4, 2011 Donation to Peace Winds Japan
We made a donation to Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) .
Peace Winds Japan is an NGO/specified non-profit corporation dedicated to the support of people threatened by conflict, disasters, poverty caused by them, or other turmoil. It was founded in Japan in 1996. Headquartered in Japan, it has been engaged in emergency humanitarian relief in disaster and conflict areas, assistance for subsequent restoration and development, and fair trade in eight countries and regions including Iraq and Afghanistan. In Japan, the organization puts its effort into building the awareness of the necessity of assistance and the role of NGO and NPO and promoting education for international understanding.
October 1, 2010 Donation to FoE Japan, an international environmental NGO
We made a donation to FoE Japan .
FoE Japan is an international environmental NGO which aims at creating a sustainable society and deals with environmental problems at the global level. It was founded in 1980. It is currently engaged in the investigation of public funds used to support developments in developing countries, regional development for sustainable society, and recycling activities for minimizing environmental load, in addition to global warming prevention, forest conservation, and desert greening.
July 1, 2010 Donation to WFP (United Nations World Food Programme)
We made a donation to WFP (United Nations World Food Programme) .
WFP is the only organization of the United Nations that is engaged in food assistance activities to alleviate the suffering and hunger caused by poverty in developing countries. It started official activities in 1963.
It is conducting a variety of humanitarian assistance activities under the name of food assistance. Its activities includes not only food assistance to refugees from conflicts and natural disasters but also school feeding programmes which aim at improving the enrollment rate and children's learning ability to promote their growth and food-for-work programmes under which WFP is engaged in a regional infrastructure development project and provides food assistance for workers in exchange for their work.
April 1, 2010 Donation to the Chile Earthquake Relief Fund
We made a donation to the Chile Earthquake Relief Fund through Japanese Red Cross Society . This relief fund is intended to support relief activities in areas affected by the 2010 Chile earthquake, which occurred on February 27, 2010.
January 4, 2010 Donation to Japan Association for UNHCR
We made a donation to Japan Association for UNHCR .
Japan Association for UNHCR is a specified non-profit corporation established in October, 2000 as the official recipient of donations from the private sector in Japan for refugee support activities by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
UNHCR commenced its operations in 1951 as a refugee assistance organization of the United Nations. From a humanitarian perspective, it has protected refugees from persecution and conflicts, provided them with assistance and education, and appealed to the international society to resolve refugee problems. At present, about 34,400,000 people in the world receive UNHCR's assistance.
October 2, 2009 Donation to the Central Community Chest of Japan
We made a donation to the Red Feather Community Chest Movement .
Funds raised through the Red Feather Community Chest Movement will be used for improving local welfare services including home welfare services implemented by municipal social welfare committees, volunteer training activities, child accident prevention, and promoting the sound development of youths.
July 1, 2009 Donation to WWF Japan
We made a donation to WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) Japan .
WWF is a global environmental conservation organization which operates in about 100 countries in order to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. It was established in Switzerland in 1961. Presently, it puts its effort into conserving biodiversity in forests and oceans, ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources such as timber and fishery products, and preventing global warming.
April 3, 2009 Donation to AIDS Orphan Support NGO – PLAS
We made a donation to AIDS Orphan Support NGO - PLAS .
AIDS Orphan Support NGO - PLAS was founded in December, 2005 as the first international NGO in Japan dedicated to supporting AIDS orphans.
Aiming to improve the living conditions of AIDS orphans, PLAS is working together with local organizations in Uganda and Kenya in school construction, agricultural projects, and HIV/AIDS prevention and enlightenment workshops.
January 7, 2009 Donation to Medecins Sans Frontieres
We made a donation to Medecins Sans Frontieres .
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is a non-profit, private, international, medical humanitarian organization, which was founded in France in 1971.
It is primarily intended to deliver emergency aid to people in danger. More than 4,100 members of MSF, including physicians and nurses, dispatched overseas are working with 22,000 local staff members to provide assistance in 62 countries over the world (as of 2007).
